The Important Information about Your Bed Linen

Bed linens come in many different types of fabric, many different types and blends of fabric that can either make the bedding sturdy and great or cheap and a waste of money.

The old adage you've always heard... you get what you pay for... is especially true when it comes to bedding fabrics. Let's take a look at a few of your choices and why you should consider on your budget.

Silk - Silk is the best of the bedding that is available. It is expensive, but it also is the most comfortable, it lasts the longest, and it has some other amazing qualities that can really help you get the best sleep possible. If you have the money to spend then get silk sheets... no questions asked.

Satin - Satin bedding is a very romantic and sexy bedding fabric like silk. However unlike silk, it is not organic and does not share many of the same qualities. Satin bedding can make very cheaply, but if you are going to invest money in that type of bedding... stay away from the cheap stuff... you will regret it.

Cotton - Cotton is great because it is very soft and warm. You can also get higher quality cottons with better thread counts to help make them feel softer. Cotton is the most popular but they are not the best if you suffer form allergies or asthma.

Bamboo - These are what I consider the new kids on the block. Bamboo bedding is an excellent choice. They share many of the same qualities as silk... not all of the them... but a good number. They are organic so if you do suffer form allergies or asthma then these are a great choice. They are also very soft. If you can't get silk sheets then I would definitely go for bamboo next.

Polyester - This is when you start to get into the different blends of fabric and this is where you have to really pay attention. Some of these blends can appear like the real deal, but they are much cheaper and you can pay for it by having them fall apart.

There are many more different types of bedding, but these are some of the most popular. Choosing the right bedding is a really important decision that can effect your sleep. A lot of people jump to conclusions about why they can't sleep and many times they go for the medication... not a good thing.

Everybody in some way or the other suffers from allergies and your cotton sheets, even the best of them can harbor molds, dust mites, and even fungus... especially if you live in a warmer climate. This can be attributing to your bad sleep. Simply getting bedding like silk sheets or bamboo sheets and make the difference you've been looking for. Make sure you check these out before you just run off and buy the first set of cheap bedding you can find.

Bottom line is you really have to do your research on the sheets you want to purchase. Most people don't think about it, but the sheets that you buy do have a great impact on the quality of sleep that you get. If you want to sleep better, start with the sheets you're using.

Getting a Comfortable Sleep When Your Pregnant

It actually doesn't cross many women's minds when they first get pregnant. Actually it probably doesn't cross their minds until they have to deal with it first hand... that's trying to sleep when pregnant. It can be pretty tough.

Many pregnant women deal with discomfort, bodily pains, tossing and turning, frustration, and even swollen feet. It's to be expected and there are reasons for it, but you can also do some things to help make sure you get your rest.

Most of the discomfort comes from your new baby growing inside of you. The baby forces you to sleep in new positions that you may not be used to and that is a big cause of discomfort. Many women are stomach sleepers, but with a baby in the way that's not really possible.

What you need to try and do is when you first get pregnant is to learn to sleep on your side. This is really important because it's going to be the best position for you and your growing baby. So learn this habit early.

Something that may hep you is a maternity pillow. These pillows are specifically designed for pregnant women and are full body pillows. They help to support your growing baby and provide you with the support you need to get a full nights rest.

The position these pillows put you in helps to increase blood flow to your baby while reducing much of the discomfort that the baby puts on your body.

Other things that you might consider are silk sheets or bamboo sheets to help you breath better and help regulate your temperature. These items and a maternity pillow will help your pregnancy move along as healthy as it possibly can.

Astounding Benefits of Silk Bedding That You Won't Believe...

Silk bedding has to be purchased properly. It you get the "cheap" stuff you will surely be disappointed with what you find, and that's why it's paramount that you find 100% silk sheets. The benefits of these sheets is amazing and I think you might actually have a hard time believing some of these.

1. It's Hypoallergenic

The silk that's is 100% silk sheets comes from the cocoon of silk worms. Something that the worm intended to be protected so it can make it's change. Because of these protective qualities, the silk protects from dust mites, mold, and funguses.

They are perfect for people that suffer from allergies and who does these days. They are perfect for people that suffer from asthma as they will actually help you breath better.

2. They Heal Your Skin

Seriously... it's been known, while there's no scientific proof, that silk can actually fight the wrinkling of skin, delay the wrinkling of the skin, and helps make hair stronger. This happens because of the amino acids that are found in silk.

Get this... silk is even said to naturally help calm people because of the effect they have on the central nervous system.

3. They are Strong

Silk sheets will last you a long time. It's been said, although not proven, that silk when woven properly is stronger than steel thread. But you have to make sure that you get mulberry silk.

While silk sheets cost quite a bit of money, you will undoubtedly get your money back several times over because they last so long.

Unlike cotton sheets which fade quickly, these will last many years and bring great joy to your sleep and to your bedroom.

What Is Memory Foam and Should I Take It Seriously?

Yes you should. Consider this... the average person who only sleeps 6 hours a night will get 2,190 hours of sleep a year. That's a lot of sleep and when you think of the cumulative affect laying on a bad mattress has on your body... it makes even more sense to be sure your mattress is top grade.

If you've read any of the other posts on my blog, I hope you've realized that the quality of sleep really makes a difference in how successful you are in life.

Memory foam has the ability to make your "not-so-great" mattress and give it an upgrade to some more luxury. It was developed originally for NASA to help astronauts disperse pressure from the forces involved in launch and landing a spacecraft.

When you lay on this type of foam, it gives way and molds itself to your unique curves. It literally hugs your body and helps to keep the pressure that is associated with laying down to be uniformly distributed throughout your body.

When you lay on a typical mattress with springs, those springs push your body back... it's physics. And this pressure cannot get evenly dispersed because it's completely localized in places like your hips and shoulders. This causes your body to hurt and even come our of proper alignment.

But if you can get some memory foam to use on your typical mattress, then you will solve many of these problems... that is until you can upgrade your entire mattress.

Don't underestimate how important what you sleep on and in, is to your health and productivity. When you start to get good sleep, your energy, mood, and health will drastically rise and make you more productive in your entire life.

Memory foam actually comes in many different forms these days. You can get a bed topper, which was talked about a lot during this article. However there are mattress manufacturers that make mattresses build around memory foam.

These can be pretty expensive, but the long term benefits of having memory foam will safe you money by avoiding doctors, chiropractors, and other contraptions. If you are serious about getting a good nights sleep and making that investment in yourself then you have to look at memory foam.
